Into the Heart of the Wood

The Island Institute brought the play, Into the Heart of the Wood, written and performed by Todd Jefferson Moore to Sitka in 1997. The Seattle-based writer and perfromer wrote a one-man stage play about the continuing logging debate where he personally took on more than 18 different characters. His characters included a mill owner, an ex-logger turned environmentalist, a monthly timber contractor, and an Anglican priest. The play drew praise fro both loggers and environmentalists alike.
