“My experience with the Institute has deepened my recognition of the value of understanding where I live and what I should try to give back. That experience has started me on paths I wouldn’t have otherwise found. It has introduced me to people who have influenced my life in countless important ways… Please, keep up the extraordinary work that you are doing.”
---Dan Morrow, Symposium participant, Computer Programmer, Boise, ID
The Island Institute’s work is made possible in large measure through the generosity of individuals, local businesses, and public and private grantors. This support supplements program revenues and local fundraising events to fill out each year’s income.
Individuals and businesses contributing through memberships and corporate donations are linked to a community of authors, thinkers, activists, and concerned citizens who are engaged with ideas that might shape a better world. You, too, can become a part of this network. We’ll put your contribution to good work and provide you updates from time to time. Here are options for ways you can support the Island Institute and some of the benefits you’ll receive.
Your support will go towards a wide range of Island Institute programs, including the Tidelines Journey, Sitka Fellows Program, Individual Writers Residencies, Sitka Story Lab, and Our Alaskan Stories.
If you would rather not donate online, you can always send a check to Island Institute / PO Box 2420 / Sitka, Alaska 99835, or call 907-747-3794.
We can also accept gifts of stock, in-kind contributions (including auction items or air miles for our writers in residence), or can discuss ways to build a donation into your estate plan.
Thank you for choosing to support the Island Institute.
